~Danielle  Rutledge

Can't tell you how many women have been helped by your previous piece on what to do in a crisis. I believe this is going to be another one of those literary gems for those who conform too easily when one voice keeps begging them to listen.
~ Kaveri  Patel

Cheryl, where is your book? What is the name of your book? Every writing you share has so much wisdom and practical advice. This one is no different. I love that this column invites us to be true to ourself and no one else. My fave part is making your home your own haven. A place to feel relaxation, -peace and inspiration. xo

Cheryl, I agree with Cindy. Where is the book??? I hope you will consider compiling all of your wisdom for us women. You have such clarity and insight. And, of course, you would know that I love the mantra, "I am my own woman," said proudly, laced with self-compassion. Thanks for this....
~ Jan Lundy

"Cheryl Wright is a wonderful lady. She is smart and knowledgeable, she gives very valuable service and I highly recommend her.
~ Colin Aleong

Just recently I entered an agreement with Cheryl to edit my manuscript. This being my first publication, I looked for an editor who displayed an out of the box approach to editing, a relaxed style and who made the process seem far from intimidating. Cheryl's personality and style met my needs. Once our agreement was 75% sealed she inspired me to dream dreams of my book signing. This is the image that I will hold onto to as I begin the process toward publishing. I hope that this will be the first of many ventures with Cheryl.

“Cheryl is a committed and caring Caribbean woman/writer. Blessed to have her as my friend. :)”
~ Sandra Sealy

"Cheryl is a gifted and prolific writer, editor, columnist with published works.  I was so impressed with her writing that I wrote to her about three years ago.  She responded and we developed a friendship over the years.  She lives in Trinidad and Tobago and this time when I visited 'de islands' - after a few fits and starts - we finally met.  And what a wonderful, refreshing time we had talking about writing and all manner of things."

Readers' letters in response to my weekly column - Wright Words of Wisdom, which is published in the Womanwise Magazine, a special publication in the Sunday edition of the Trinidad Guardian newspaper.

Dear Cheryl,
I admire the passion that you have for your work, the effort that you put into it, and the diverse topics and range of issues that you address in your articles. Even if you have made a difference in the life of one single reader, or made him/her see something in a different light, you have accomplished something very valuable and worthwhile, and changed a reader's thinking and outlook for the better. Some readers may write to thank you for it, and it is quite likely that others have taken in your advice and will work on improving their lives and relationships, though you may never hear from them. And I will wager that some of them clip some of your articles that they like or identify with to re-read at various times.

My Mom clips articles, my sister clips articles, my brothers clip articles, and I clip articles, so most, if not all of your readers will clip articles too, and some of them will be your articles.

You should never doubt the relevancy of your purpose or the articles that you write. There will always be readers who will be thankful that you answered something that was troubling them, or some issue in a job or relationship that they were facing and maybe didn't know how to handle, or who may have regrets about decisions or actions that they took or didn't take. In some ways and areas of life, it is better to be sorry for something you did than for something you didn't do. And when it comes to relationships one just cannot turn back the hands of time, though one would wish it, but it is too late at that point.
~ Colin

Dear Cheryl,
Your writing is very inspiring so I think this is a great channel for people to receive the manifestation of your gift. They will be touched and moved to action - just as I was.
~ Wendy

Hi Cheryl,
Once again you have reached inside my very soul and put words to my very feelings and thoughts. It is as if you were inside my head and heart listening every second.
~ Angela

Cheryl,
I read your columns religiously. I really appreciate your insight. Your writing assists me in my studies and I also forward them to friends and relatives. Please continue writing to inspire others.

Dear Ms. Wright,
Thank you for the light of your wisdom.  Your article on 'settling,' has struck a deep seated nerve that grabbed my conscious attention by the collar and shook my awareness of myself and my situation to a new level. Yes, I am sure that you have touched and lifted the heart of at least one, and I certainly needed that. But, in the larger scheme of things, one equals one thousand and that is worthwhile, not to mention worth my while:-).

For over seventeen years I have been living my life in a spirit of compromise and over the years it has had such a pervasive effect on my overall behaviour, that it can be summed up as an underlying feeling of anger and resentment.  This acknowledgement alone, has given me a such a lift that I decided to take it further and acknowledge your contribution and my gratitude, in this personal process.

Your articles have a level of appeal that implies a wealth of experience, and if you have any thoughts on strategies to break out of a life of compromise and return to freedom, I will certainly appreciate you sharing them.

Therefore, I wish you continued success in your work and glorious blessings in your life.
~ Terrance

Cheryl,
Just a little note to say how much I enjoy reading your profound words of wisdom, published in the Sunday Guardian's Womanwise Magazine.
~ Mervyn

Dear Cheryl,
I hope this little note reaches you in good spirits.
I find it difficult to keep this to myself and not express how much I'm taken up with your article "Breaking the cycle of compromise" that was published on 27/09/'09 so much so I've decided to do an audio recording of it and present it to a friend. This I find very interesting and it left a great impression on me after read it, I think it has touched home and at the same time an eye-opener.

In concluding I perceive that there's more to expect on this topic, if so how often?

Thanks for the eye-opener and have a Bless Day.
~ Christopher

Dear Ms. Wright,
I've read your columns many times over the past few months.

They inspire me;  they lift me when
I'm down and they strengthen
me when I'm weak.  They steady me
when my confidence is shaken
and straighten me when I'm leaning.

Thank you.

God bless you and may you always find the right words to touch the hearts of all who need encouragement.
~ Hashmeen

Dear Cheryl,
I am from Maturin Venezuela. I am a 34-year-old woman. I am successful, happy and I keep working to achieve new goals. I read the newspaper from Trinidad & Tobago because I want to keep my English alive. Your article in the Womanwise Magazine - Put an End to the Passive Life was very interesting because one of my relatives has been living with a negative attitude.

I feel sad when I see one of my relatives living a passive life. I always try to show her how to leave that negativity behind. She is older than me but she looks at life like a very young person. Thank you for showing other ways how to help her to change her mind and become in a positive, proactive and successful person.
~ Lissette

Dear Ms. Wright,
I am a Trinidadian living in the United States and I find that your articles are very enlightening and interesting. I missed the previous parts and I would like to know if you can forward it to me. I think that these articles will enhance my life as there are some cultural issues that arise with my fiancé. She does not fully understand my culture and she expects me to fully embrace the American way which I said quite clear I will not since I have my own value system and points of references whenever challenges arise. I know for this relationship to work compromise must be made on both sides but I am always the one who is required to make the sacrifice in most of the situations.

This article made me see things differently and I know it can help me to improve myself so that it can enhance this relationship grow.

Thanking you in advance and continue posting your wonderful articles.
~ Ian

Dear Ms. Wright,
I am a second year university student and I have been severely melancholic for some months now and it began to affect my schoolwork. Intense feelings of belonging to an unappreciative world have slowly engulfed me for awhile and as I sat down to read your article on putting an end to a "passive life", it somehow hit a chord in my subconscious.

As I read your article it made me aware of habits I developed over the past year and the article really made me assess how I view the current obstacles in my life and exactly how I can remove them, many of which I have found a way to deal with after reading your article. Basically what I am saying is , thank you...u really helped me, and your words of advice continue to help me. May God continue to shower you with the health, happiness and strength needed to continue helping others as you have helped me :)
~ Linda

Dear Cheryl,

Good morning Ms. Wright,
I read your 12 Financial Steps for Daily Living and I am really inspired by the advice given.
~ Sean

Dear Cheryl,
I loved your article, " Six signs you are standing in you own way" published on the 20th June. It resonated so well with me that I made it a point to place it my journal for self improvement. It was all very true, especially about point number 5 where one can cradle thoughts of giving up. I have discovered that this tends to happen for me when I am alone and lost in my own thoughts. I do my best to counteract this by finding activities to keep me busy or by being around people.
~ Avionne

Dear Cheryl,
I just finished reading your very true and correct article, which somewhat mirrors my life.  Every time I read your article, it is always a worthwhile the read.  Continue writing what you feel it is more important that what a person thinks you should feel.

Have a wonderful day and may God guide you rightly.
~ Donna

Dear Ms. Wright,

Best Regards,
~ Leannne
